Lucy turns 40

On January 23rd 2027 Lucy Cahill (née Mack) turns 40. Help us celebrate by sending a personal birthday message and sharing your photos and stories from every era of her life so far.

About This Birthday Project

Lucy is turning 40, and instead of a single card, we’re going to create a living scrapbook made by the people who know her best. Browse the eras of her life, add your photos, make comments on others, and share the stories behind them. Let’s surprise her with a collective expression of how much she means to us and how she has meaningfully contributed to our own stories—a gift she can hopefully revisit for years.

My name is Daniel to some and Rex to others, and I have the privilege of being Lucy’s husband for 14 years. I’ve given you a link to this page (or someone I trust who knows Lucy has), because you have been revealed as someone who has shared in some part of her life. Please feel free to share the link with others as you think appropriate, but please be careful not to publish it on any public forum or social media site. Person to person please. Let’s keep this personal.

Once the project has been filled as much as we’re able I will convert it into a book to be presented to her on her birthday on January 23rd and finally close the site, it’s purpose fulfilled.

Please scroll down to find out how you can contribute.

Thank you so much for being a part of this.

How to Contribute

Please pause, have a think about Lucy and any time you have spent alongside each other and then contribute in these three ways:

1 – Send a photo

Search and find a photo that features you both and that best fits the memory you have of Lucy. Choose the ‘era’ that best fits the memory and then use the button within that era to generate an email that comes directly to me (Daniel/Rex). Share the photo, your full name and the story behind it, written as you’d like it to appear in the final book. I’ll then get it all uploaded into the corresponding era.

2 – Send a birthday message

Words are so powerful and mean so much when spoken sincerely by people you have known and valued, and if we know anything about Lucy we know she values people. Please write a birthday message directly on this site alongside your full name. Once it passes through my inbox to be approved it will appear on the messages page

3 – Comment on other memories

Please browse through the eras at the photos already uploaded, do they spark another memory? Also have meaning for you? Please add your comment with your full name by using the reply function.

So… are you ready to share a memory or a message? Go for it! I know she will love to hear from you.
